Defeat is a Decision

Monday Mountain
September 19, 2016

Defeat Does Not Just Happen to You

Those are harsh words. Suck it up, buttercup. I do not mean defeat like losing the last breath of life out of you, I mean defeat as in that sinking feeling when you give up. It happens to all of us at some point, mostly as a child. It's not until you gain a level of maturity when you acknowledge that the fault lies on your own shoulders. Think about it this way: as a kid, you would fall down and perhaps scrape your knee, well at that point when you start to cry for yourself because of the pain, that's when you become defeated.

It's just worse to become defeated when you get older because you gain so much more power, intelligence, wisdom, and spirit. As the number of days you've lived grows, you should grow in all of those facets so the likelihood of you being in a situation with unfavorable odds decreases. Admitting you're overwhelmed is your first step backward, at which point you may as well just give up. Sure, there are lots of things that may daunt your courage, that doesn't mean they should stop you.

Over a series of events in my adulthood, a lot of unfortunate things have happened. I've been pushed to my limits. I've had the metaphorical wind taken out of my sails. I've resided in low valleys. I've swum in waters deeper than I am tall. I've been burned on passions. I've experienced a lot of feelings and situations where the decision about defeat was put on my shoulders. Not every situation was left in victory, there were times when I accepted the defeat because I could not carry on.

At this point now in my life, I will say no to defeat. I've tasted that sour solution to my sorrows and I must say, my heart prefers the burn of the prolonged struggle. I cannot tell you whether you should resist defeat, that decision lies purely within your heart. For myself, I will fight and persevere in order to rise to the top of every mountain I climb. For my loved ones, I will offer my hand to them so that they may too realise that they can rise above the agony of defeat. Nonetheless, every defeated person has willingly accepted, it is never handed to them. Be strong my friends, it's always better once you decide it will be.

Jim Wendler's Gym Advice

Tuesday Take
September 13, 2016

"Make time for it. Just get it done. Nobody ever got strong or got in shape by thinking about it. They did it."

- Jim Wendler -

Jim put it about as straight forward as anyone else could have. The man of strength put it best, just go out there and do it. Known for his strength workout 5/3/1, Jim Wendler is one of the great athletes in the fitness world. This lesson applies to more than fighting gravity with iron barbells, it's more than simply getting to a large space where you will move your body in order to make yourself sweat, or whatever vague gym reference I can make.

This applies to life as well. If you fantasize about success, you surely will not live through prosperity. What you must do is apply yourself more than the average. Just go forth and work. Hustle and spend energy for a better product of yourself. Kill everything you do without mercy. Repeat as necessary.

Allowance of Average

Monday Mountain
September 12, 2016

Allowance of Average: What's the mean?

With Big Data and standardized testing, there's almost nothing that those with the numbers can't infer about the individual or the public. Of course, an inference is just a conclusion, it's not the whole story. In other words, that conclusion made out of the information provided with a dash of reasoning will not necessarily be the best answer or the correct answer, it is just one answer.

Now with all these numbers and observations of the public, there is a clear definition of what average means and what it takes to achieve the standard. There's a problem in that solution, what does it take to achieve above average results? What is required of you to go higher than your peers?

There is no road map. No definition. No given standards. And so on.

In order to achieve more than what the average does, you will have to go out and find it for yourself. No one will tell you, because if they tell you then they will always be above you. Take it upon yourself to apply and multiply your own efforts in order to reach success greater than what may be given to you for basic participation.

When You Stop Looking Up to Your Father

Thursday Thought
September 8, 2016

How the relationship between my Dad & I changed, without either of us knowing.

Sounds like something shouldn't have surprised you, right? It did when I realized the course we had took and where we were going. If you may remember, I recently wrote about how my Dad is my best friend. That hasn't changed, and I believe this shift into friendship between us was a key factor in the development of our new relationship.

I'll tell you what happened. I stopped looking up to my Dad. I don't admire him any less, or love him any less. I simply stopped looking up to him as a role model. This shift was gradual and probably took about four or five years to complete its transition. We are two very different men. That's what strengthens our friendships, but we are both similar and different in personality traits.

When I was about 21, when I was in the mountains of Colorado hiking alone where I would occasionally pause to enjoy a nice view, I had an epiphany. I decided I wanted to become my own man, not a product that continually reproduces itself with each generation. We are different in that I'm outgoing, he's not so much, and that's just one of many off the list. Him and I do share a number of great qualities, but not all of them are the same.

It took some time before my epiphany really took hold and made itself present in my conscious thoughts. He is a great friend and a wonderful mentor, but I have decided to become my own man. I want to have a different career, live out a different social life, and make decisions based on my own opinions and facts. At this point, I no longer look up to him, but rather I would say we sit eye-to-eye and share in each other's own unique opinions and views. This is where our friendship has its roots based, in our ability to revel in each man's abilities and traits and we appreciate how similar we are while also celebrating our differences. Here's to being a proud son of his, and a my own self.

Old Man, New Goals

Tuesday Take
September 6, 2016

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."
- C.S. Lewis -

What's that old phrase?

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

That may be correct if only applied to dogs and not to the spirit of the working man. As a working professional, as an ambitious citizen, or as a human with hobbies, you may or may not be striving to achieve new goals or visions. Just as the quote bluntly says, you're never too old.

Some people cease to study after they each a Bachelor's Degree from college. Some people stop to apply themselves once they get that dream job. Some people settle for the white picket fence.

Here's the recommendation from a professional, go forth and refresh your goals periodically. Continuously challenge yourself and adjust your vision into the future.

Biggest Lie Told to Millennials

Monday Mountain
9/5/2016

The biggest lie told to millennials?

After some thinking it occurred to me, the young adults in America are lied to throughout their lives. It's something that we are made to believe but very few actually see it come to fruition. What is this lie?

The lie in its basic state: You are special.

You're just like everyone else. Pause for the angry grumbling to quiet down. Okay, I'll admit it you can be special. Simply existing in this society does not grant you a trophy, a paycheck, or any form of pats on the back. It's an atrocity to the world to instill this idea that you deserve anything without having earned it.

Fucking earn it. If you truly believe you're special, then invest in your uniqueness and earn what you believe you deserve. One person may be able to hold you back, but the whole world can't stop you.

Your childhood, my childhood, the American childhood... It's polluted with the ideas we are all special and unique and that we all should receive the ribbon for merely taking part. The process continues with standardized tests, parent-teacher conferences, so on and so-forth. This corruption of you social expectation is like an infection, you can fight it off if you so wish. Once you go off to college, your grades become your own, your actions become your own, and your future truly becomes your own. Own it.

That's how you can combat this lie, by believing in it and making it evolve into a true statement about yourself. By expecting more out of yourself than anyone else, you can then become that something special. The highest of standards should be the ones that you hold yourself to, not the ones the world places on you. Don't accept being told you're special, prove to the world that you're a marvel.

Strong Words, Strong Message

Tuesday Take
7/26/2016

"It takes someone strong to make someone strong."
- P&G Commercial -

Yes, I this week's Tuesday Take is from a commercial. This commercial gives me chills every time it comes on for the Olympics. It may stir up some emotions within, but that's between my heart and me.

It's meant to be about mothers and the strength they display to their offspring while also instilling it in their young ones. They go through these situations where Olympians were once faced with tremendous obstacles, fears, dangers. Their mothers were there to assure, enable, and grow their child to give them the power to do these great things, to be put on the world's biggest stage.

You should invest in others, it helps make the world a better place. Nothing should be so exciting as seeing someone who you've helped become a success, even better if their success is tremendous. It's a cornerstone of being a great leader, enabling and empowering other people whether if they work for you, work with you, or you work for them. You can always build someone's strength in so many ways more than you think by just believing in them.

Let's build each other up to become wonders. Let's become so strong that we cannot be deterred, destroyed, or demoralized. Let's be great, let them be great.

Difficulty of Committing

Monday Mountain
7/25/2016

There is a struggle in every day. It's a struggle of commitment. For everyone it's two peaks between three points, first is the decision and that's a tough climb, in the saddle it's the action, and finally in the climb down that's the final product. Those two peaks are the commitment points. Where you put decision into action and when you go from doing to completing. You've heard the phrase "Easier said than done." That's how commitment works.

For myself, my toughest commitments are to good nutrition, cardiovascular training, and my professional occupation. I love to eat, it's so easy to eat shit or to eat a lot of good food so that it becomes bad for you. Committing to positive nutritional choices for my health and fitness goals is the hardest decision I make everyday, it's got to do with the instant gratification and the here-and-now flaw of my being. Second worst commitment for me to make is the commitment to doing cardio training, because it's hard, it sucks. It's better in a group or as a competition, because in my mind I either can't let someone else down because of my lack of valiant effort or I don't want someone else to win because I'm not good enough. When it comes to doing cardio and running alone, I'm left with my thoughts and my mind and my own obstacles, I often don't want to face those.

Bringing it back to commitment, it's the point between decision and action and it's also the point between action and completion. What is your biggest commitment failure? What are your top three worst? Think about why, just as I did. Now that you know what and why you fail to commit, pursue that downward climb to completion. Face those reasons why you don't commit to those objectives, commit to those goals and complete them. Don't let yourself stand in your own way.

Things Worth Living For: Applause

Thursday Thought
7/21/2016

Things Worth Living For, Part 1

Applause

Thing worth living for? They're not exactly physical things, they're things experienced or things that are felt. Imagine with me, the moments in your life when you initiate the inner dialogue to essentially say, "Wow, how great it is to be alive?"

Today, it's about the applause. This is not about the sound of the audience clapping for your success or their enjoyment of a show you just put on. It's about the acknowledgement from select individuals. Those who are lucky enough to receive support or encouragement from their parents, the statement "I'm proud of you" is a strong round of applause from one person.

The applause that some people may not give or receive quite enough is when the performer is a friend or the audience is a friend of yours. Not just any friend, but a true beloved, dear friend. If they're on the stage and perform a magnificent feat, like landing a great new job, finding the love of their life, or accomplishing something at all, you should applaud them. In these instances, my favorite alternative to an exciting clapping of my pair of hands is to say "Hell yeah man!" or something like "Dude, that's awesome!" Small statements like that carry much more meaning on channels between friends than when it comes from lesser valued acquaintance.

Most importantly, there's an applause from one person that means the absolute most and it often goes unheard or fails to be initiated. It's the applause you give yourself. Self-Talk is an important part of keeping things in perspective. I understand you won't necessarily be proud of what you've accomplished, but you should do it anyways. Whenever something is achieved or done well, take a minute when you're by yourself and have a quick internal dialogue "Hey, that's really cool that I did that." Whether or not you impressed yourself, you should understand the importance of acknowledging yourself for a job well done.

Since you're not Urkel, the words "Did I do that" should not come out of your mouth in a tone of astonishment. Clap with your words, pass along the encouragement to your friends, loved ones, colleagues, and yourself. The applause is not always desired, but it's always appreciated. Hell, that feel-good feeling... It's worth living for!

Why I Hate Enthusiastic Support

Wednesday Wander
7/20/2016

We are all pieces of art, we perceive each other in our own way;

only our Creator knows our true meaning and purpose.

I hate when other people show support for my successes and ambitions.

I know, it's counter-intuitive. I really do hate it, allow me explain why.

My successes aren't for you place your pride inside my root cellar. It's my own weight I bear. I pursue those peaks, weather the valleys, go beyond the expected, strive for new heights, nurse my wounds, stretch my energy, and push the limits. I don't do it for you to claim acquaintance with me, or to brag about my success like you had something to do with it. This investment in the victories is my own responsibility and my own reward.

You do not know me as well as you may believe. I'm no man behind the curtain, but there's a lot that goes on backstage behind the audience's perceptive vision. I hold alot within, these are soft and vulnerable pieces protected by this hardened shell of my spirit. It is a rare situation that comes when someone can judge me for my whole self, besides just one aspect or angle. We are all pieces of art and everyone perceives us each in their own way, and only our creator knows our true meaning and purpose.

Who are you pat me on the back or shake my hand? I mean disrespect by this, but those who cheer you on and emphasize your victories are not always there when you fail to win. It's not called losing, it's just like a falter step. You have a war to win, and a battle is simply not in your favor if you fail to win, so don't give up.

Supporting me or rooting for me... It's frustrating and it tends to really bother me, in fact it's more likely that your words of support will cause more harm than good. I feed off of the negative energy, the criticism, the doubt others will place in my ambition. As a predator, the meat of those comments against my dreams provides me strength and energy for the ongoing journey. So tell me what needs to be done, tell you don't think I can do it. I appreciate you more for that than for some encouraging words.

Do not tell me how good I will do. Doubt me. Go on, I dare you. Do not provide me accolades while I am mid-battle. Don't praise me for something. I want a blazing fire, not cool water. Charge me up for my ambitions require tremendous energy. If you want to support me, give me that look of support, a quick thumbs up. Acknowledge my struggle with understanding that it's not over and I still have more that I will do.

When I'm dead I'll rest in peace, until then I won't rest in the least.

When You Find a Song for How You Feel

Tuesday Take
7/19/2016

If you feel like underdog turn your system up loud
I've been to hell and back
For that I'm proud
So everything should be heaven from here on out

- OnCue "Can't Wait" -

This fellow is one of my favorite performers, of all time, every time he drops a track I download it and wear it out but it's got a lifetime warranty. This comes from one of those songs I can't get enough of. I put this track on when I am driving to a momentous event, in order to raise my heartbeat and my spirits. Works every time, there are of course two or three other songs that get played when it's time to get pumped up.

I've been on a life journey that hasn't always been easy, filled with heart breaks and aching wounds from so many different things. It's nothing quite what OnCue has been through, but his emotion and passion fuels my own. These lyrics have so much meaning and weight to them, I can't help but appreciate these words strung together in such an order.

To those who've been through Hell or even to it, I salute you. Come on back to the mortal world, and conquer those who haven't felt the heat of the devil. Feel great about the fire inside your chest, fueling your success.

Listen to the song here.

Standing Among Mountains

Monday Mountain
7/18/2016

I went to a school at the base of mountains. These mountains were formed abruptly, not much unlike how an event can cause sudden change in us. The Flatirons were a tremendous backdrop for my college education while attending University of Colorado at Boulder, reaching into the sky beautifully and with majesty.

During my time at the school, I eventually developed an understanding of what it meant to study, to live, to stand in the presence of these mountains. As you study in the presence of such a beauty, you can't help but to gaze and learn wisdom for yourself as you know they've learned their own wise lessons. Their natural presence creates a desire within that fuels your own personal development beyond the school books and scheduled lectures. To live among the mountains means more than being in their presence while you take turns casting your shadow upon each other, it means admiring and enjoying things beyond your own life and daily routine.

Now to stand among these mountains, that's the glorious part of this all. You can either stand in their valleys, hiding in the shadows, or you can stand on their peaks, proud of your feats for getting you there. There's no standing on their slopes, you are either climbing or descending these angled pathways. You must progress through the ebb and flow of these paths, for you do not reside upon one mountain top, you must stand upon the series of mountain tops for continued pride and success. Resting on one mountaintop creates certain death of ambition and progression. Cowards reside in the valleys afraid of the light and the heavens, only to be washed away in the snow melt each spring providing reason for their own demise.

I ask you, the reader, will you choose to stand atop the mountains or will you hide in their valleys? If you desire something for yourself beyond sustaining and survival, then the answer should be clear. Safe adventures, there is no such thing. Trust the feats of your life to get you where you want to go.

Rage Against Yourself

Monday Mountain
6/13/2016

You might have seen it floating around the internet, it's a picture quote. In this picture it reads something along the lines of, "If you don't let someone else talk to you like that, why would you do it to yourself?" This is obviously pertaining to the self-talk we have constantly in our lives, during these internal dialogues we critique, evaluate, and judge ourselves, often it is too harsh on ourselves.

There's nothing against self-talk. It's the ideal dialogue between you and yourself. A growing voice in society is encouraging self-talk to be positive, because it can have adverse effects on your self-esteem and confidence. As human beings with egos, they're sensitive and I would not advocate damaging yours in any way, however, I do believe you should have some sort of qualm with yourself. What some may call a chip on your shoulder, you need to have it with yourself.

This chip represents all of your ambitions and expectations of yourself. This is the vision of your future you believe in. It is the dreams and fantasies of who and where you want to be down the road. With this chip you have to keep yourself in check in order to achieve it. These checks come in the form of real selftalk... You have to keep it real with yourself.

What does one say to one's self during self-talk while keeping it real? For me it includes the following phrases:

  • Are you kidding me about this?
  • Will this really accomplish your goals?
  • Why don't you just finish it? Why don't you start it?
  • Fuck you. You're slacking off. You're better than this.
And the list goes on.

You should always be hard on yourself and reward yourself. Never settle for complacency. Expect more out of you than anyone else expects out of you. Call yourself out. It's amazing what you can do once you start looking at yourself without personal bias. Keep it real. Call it how you do it.

Turmoil of Tolkien

Tuesday Take
6/7/2016

"I do so dearly believe, that no half-heartedness and no worldly fear must turn us aside from following the light unflinchingly.”

- J.R.R. Tolkien -

After researching into this quote I fell in love with earlier this year, it was discovered that it was not actually a quote from one of Tolkien's books. This was part of his commentary to Edith, his wife, I believe it came from a letter he wrote to her about her converting to Catholicism. Besides the true history of the quote, in true fashion the English language can be interpreted in many ways from its pure surface value when taken out of context and freed from nonverbal bounds.

Let's break it down...
In this quote, the beauty of it lies in the secular nature of those bounds... the half-heartedness and the worldly fear. Then it acknowledges the divinity of light and how it cannot be stopped. Sure, it sounds like I'm writing about religion. In reality, I'm talking about the nature of destiny and how you can live it out.

Nothing in the world should scare you enough to keep you from pursuing yourself.
Nothing for lack of effort from yourself should hold you back.
Everything from within should enable you to win your battles.
Everything around you can build you up to feel royal.

Medication of Dedicaiton

Monday Mountain
6/6/16

I'm fed up with adequacy.  That sense of coasting is awfully comfortable, which feeds into either feelings of self-loathing or a feeling of decency. For me, I've fallen into a world of skating by and doing okay. It all started going downhill with a shoulder injury, as a result of this I have been out of lifting regularly for about 6 weeks. I'm anxious, getting out of shape, and feeling pretty pathetic all the time.

I don't need a freaking pity party. I've already done that for myself, it's called my intervention.

Yes, you too can intervene in your own bad habits and addictions in order to heal and have a better life.

I wrote this post about feeling sorry for myself because I have commit out loud and in writing to myself before I change my habits. It's a thing about dedicating your efforts and energy to your goals and to your growth. If you do not grow, you will wither and die.

After fighting a physical injury and internal ailments (beyond the organs), I woke up this morning and felt a need to change things for the better. Stop feeling sorry and feeling tired. Tell myself to shut the hell up. Go out and chase that positive energy. Grow and become better than I have been. It's time to pursue my best life. I will put doubts to death. I will rise higher than the sun. I will be stronger than ever before. Day by day I will lay the stones to build a wonder, through hard work, not being a sluggard and slumber.

Evaluate where you are and decide if you need to dedicate something to yourself. Are you achieving your goals? Are you growing? What does it take for you achieve? What are you doing that's helping you reach those goals? What are you not doing that's hurting your goal reaching-abilities?

I prescribed a Medication of Self-Dedication. Now watch me flourish.

Self-Appreciation

Thursday Thought
6/2/2016

Are you content with where you are?
Are you happy of who you are?
Are you proud of what you've done?

If you answered yes to at least two of those questions, then well done to you.
I would say yes to two of the three for myself, however the last question is definitely a no.

Pride is a part of self-appreciation, I believe it goes from valuing yourself into treasuring your attributes and accolades. Our parents, some friends, and the occasional superior in the workplace can either show or express their pride in who you are the reward they see from investing in you. It's a welcome feeling, other people's pride in you, it's a more valuable thing to be proud of yourself.

Turning myself into something/someone I can be proud of is the source of my drive and ambition. I am not proud of who I am, but I am confident and content in myself. I am not proud of what I have accomplished, because there is still more to do. I'm not going to tell you to feel the same way or you how to believe in yourself... that is entirely up to you.

Self-pride is not something I practice at this time in my life, because I know there is much more that I can accomplish. I have determined I am going to be successful (defined in my own way) in my professional career, personal relationships, physical development, and my overall life achievements. This is purely a conscious decision and not because of a destined fate. Success is rarely something that people fall into, it is stalked, hunted, and acquired through hard, continual work.

What will it take for my be proud of what I've done? That's the tricky part, I have an idea of prospective accomplishments in all areas. It is better to leave it as an outline for right now and lets the details reveal themselves through the opportunities that arise in front of me. There have been objectives that I have self-assigned, through striking those off of my list I can become someone to be proud of.

Ambivalence towards ambition?

Wednesday Word
6/1/2016

Ambition

Merriam-Webster:

A strong desire to do or to achieve something,  typically requiring determination and hard work.

Quintessential Voyage

A willingness to sacrifice frivolous freedoms and sweet sins in order to pursue a goal or task so that you may achieve the objective.

Sacrifices for your passion or your goals is not always a bad thing. There are times when you give up freedoms to pursue something better in knowing you can enjoy the fruits of your labor in time.

Do not sacrifice it all. There is a balance in life. Do not burn bridges, build wonders. Do not live on an island, live with loved ones. Ambition is about the fire that burns within. Utilize that fire to fuel your uphill journey, and display that fire to allow others to feel its warmth and find their own.

You can give up some liberties and joys for temporary time periods, but you must also find time to reward yourself for what you have already done. You must also work. Without work there is no reward. You do not deserve anything, you prove your worth and earn your keep.

I recently posted a picture on my Instagram, it talks about the costs of ambition. Listing several things that I agree with and some others that I don't agree with. The costs include long days, lots of associates/few friends, people lacking the ability to understand, being single, and the fact that nobody wants to see you surpass them so they'll only help you to a part. I currently lack much free time for anything beyond what helps me grow and enhance, for that reason I rarely hangout with my friends and I hardly go on dates. It's just how it goes... The true friends will be there the day you win and they'll answer the day you fall.

A SEAL & a Scholar

Tuesday Take

“A good peace, a solid peace, a peace in which communities can flourish, can only be built when we ask ourselves and each other to be more than just good, and better than just strong. And a good life, a meaningful life, a life in which we can enjoy the world and live with purpose, can only be built if we do more than live for ourselves.”
- Eric Greitens -
The Heart and the Fist

This quote comes from one of my favorite books I read in college. I owe part of my ambition and fire to the inspiration that Greitens instilled in me through this tremendous memoir. It seriously opened my eyes to see there is something beyond myself.

There is great pleasure in living for other people and helping them grow and become better. It's a wonderful thing to help someone out and to watch them grow from your nurturing and love. This quote comes with a lot of face value. Take it as it is.

Does this quote provoke thought? What comes to mind when you're reading it over and over?

Personal Growth

Monday Mountain
5/30/2016

You view yourself more than anyone else. You look at yourself every time you're in front of a mirror, anytime you consider your past, present, future actions, and when you process your feelings and emotions. It's important to view yourself positively and with balance. Avoid being too hard on yourself for what you may or may not have done.

Look at your day and evaluate how your actions and what you've done (if it is morning then you should look at yesterday). Hindsight is 20/20 after all...

Evaluate what you did previously with fairness and objectivity. Have you gotten everything compiled and rated and reviewed in your mind? Are you ready for the next step? Are you sure? Don't continue unless you have done so already.

Now take a look at a couple of my favorite quotes:

  1. Each and every day you either get better or you get worse, you never stay the same.
  2. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got.
So looking at those quotes, now measure your actions and decide if you've become better or worse at then end of each and every day. But there's a balance required to progress, there will be tried and true actions that benefit you and there will be a need for new approaches to development.

Here's the moral of the story: grow consistently and with good intention, you can and will do so much more alone than you believe is possible before you started.

Untitled.

Friday Freestyle
Poetry
5/27/2016

It's the opening of something sweet,
Each word escaping your mind leaves with a flutter,
Excitingly sharing facts and anecdotes to a new unfamiliar person,
Eagerly listening to their statements of experiences,
Each pause allows coursing electricity between two bodies,
Cravings linger on the tip of your tongue in that silence,
Engaging conversation with someone very fresh but oddly familiar.

Dialogue takes leaps of faith onto a new topic,
Sharply turning down a side road from the highway,
The high speed of lighthearted stories shifts,
New trajectory to something very personal,
A dark unpaved road proves eerily calming,
Revisiting each childhood and those dreams imagined in such a time,
Youth inspired such hope and poisoned with honesty through experience.

As the story is told the puzzle pieces are placed,
An image of who this stranger is develops before you,
Road map of their life becomes published,
Take it one step, one mile at a time,
Hold back from guessing where they've been,
Hesitate before you envision all of who they are,
No person can be measured in weight, distance, or mass.

Envision who they are as they allow you to,
Lead each other on your blind journey,
Should they are a good companion for you and vice versa,
Predictions remain untold, each day unfolds differently,
Embrace these new feelings of attraction,
Rejoice that they reside somewhere deeper than animal desires,
Celebrate the wounds and wins that brought them to you as they are.

You too have bumps and bruises and brilliance from life,
Allow them to take a glimpse inside of you,
At the world that is tremendous and immense,
There exists first in your heart that waits for release,
Beware that sharing this flame can be disastrous,
Prepare the kindling and the fuel precisely,
Once ready, carefully ignite that bonfire of love.

Hold back from sharing that burning signal through speech,
Its flickering light will travel far beyond you believe it will,
Stand in patience and watch the far horizon,
Flames from ignition will travel unbelievable distances,
Tremendous heat and light seems so close and comforting,
Although separately held flames the celebrations burn as one,
Within those two beings there is such catastrophe that the world rejoices in its chaos.
