Seven Teaching Moments from Dwayne Johnson

Taken from the December Issue of "Muscle & Fitness"

These are the bullet points from the article just published last month about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. This little dose of life advice was exactly what I needed lately after losing perspective oof my goals and passions. "Muscle and Fitness" has been a great source of advice, inspiration, and role models. Even if you're not into bodybuilding, I strongly recommend taking a look into their articles about their cover athletes.

Without further ado, here are the Seven Life Lessons Dwayne Johnson learned in the gym (and they could very well be applied to life as well):

  1. Work hard. Always.
  2. Persistence pays.
  3. Have a sense of purpose.
  4. Without control, strength can be a weakness.
  5. See the signs around you.
  6. When in doubt, go back to the basics.
  7. Failure is a virtue.
Keep things in perspective. Take these ideas at surface value and apply them for deeper usage in your own life. Work hard, hustle always, stay hungry, and kill it every day my friends.

Wednesday Word - Rise - 1/6/2016

Wednesday Word

Rise

Merriam-Webster Definition:

To move from a lower position to a higher one; come or go up.

Quintessential Voyage Definition:

To improve your position, to better yourself, to achieve bigger and better things, to elevate your status to the world and to yourself.

This week's word has a lot more meaning to me than its surface value. Imagine you're in a plateau, and you've seemingly reached the cap to your abilities, this is where you can go from being grounded to flying. Simply rise.

Rise to the occasion. Rise with the sun. Make your value rise. Raise your spirits. The only way you should move is up. Nothing crazy here. Make like bread, and add yeast... Rise. Pardon the pun.

Tuesday Take - 1/5/2016

Tuesday Take

An original quote from the curator of the blog:

Establish victory over others and they will respect you.

Conquer yourself daily and you will be feared

- Cole Cook

This one is pretty simple, if you can prove you're better than other people then you will gain respect. However, if you can prove to continually become better than you were then you will transform into a wonder in their eyes.

They say you either get better or you get worse with each passing day, so in order to Carpe Vita...  you must improve with each passing day.
